Cead Mile Failte, my Children. Well as the resident Irish American, allow me to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day. It bears note, though, that up until recently, all pubs in Ireland were CLOSED on this day because its a Holy Day of Obligation. Isn't that chock full of irony, considering its the biggest drinking holiday after New Years...but not so for the Irish for most of their history. My grandparents went to church to celebrate the holiday. So remember, it wasn't always just an excuse to get hammered...I typed as I take a sip from my oversize can of Guinness.
