I've been seeing a lot of thought balloons in comics lately. That makes me more than a little happy. And Superman seems to be improving slightly too. That also makes me happy...

I took the last few days off (mostly because the weather made me not feel like posting). But if there's one thing I won't miss it's Thursday Night Thinking!

There was a lot of good stuff in this week's Superman 80-Page Giant. But for my money the Jimmy Olsen story was far and away the best. It really encapsulates the madness that life must be when you're Jimmy Olsen...

Though I can barely find the energy I'm still prepared to bring you... Thursday Night Thinking!

I can't be the only one who finds this cover a little bit creepy...

Here's the thing: I've seen a lot of Jimmy Olsen stories over the years. This one? Not the wildest by a long shot. Not even in the top ten.

Once again... Thursday Night Thinking!

Now here's the thing: the more I see of these old Silver Age Superman covers the more I want to read them. For those of you who have experienced this era: is it all as senses shatteringly awesome as it appears? Or am I better off with my idyllic imaginings?

And here I almost forgot about Thursday Night Thinking! If it's getting forgettable we need something short, sweet, and simple. How about a simple thought for the simple (mostly) town of Smallville?

That's about as pure a thought as one is likely to find.

Nothing says "insanity" like Silver Age Superman comics! This is Thursday Night Thinking!

Here's the thing: during the Silver Age Lois was a terrible person. But that's okay, because Superman was even worse. I imagine this whole sham marriage to "Clark Kent" is just a twisted trick on the part of Superman to teach Lois a valuable lesson.

Such is the Silver Age.

There are some who think Lois Lane should get her own comic series. Not a bad idea; she's a compelling character and one of the best in all of comics.

And if they did give us a Lois Lane series I imagine it wouldn't be much like the original...
