Before I proceed with tonight's post, allow me to apologize for the Doctor's excessiveness last night. Rest assured that whatever he thinks additional worthy bloggers -- which do exist, really -- will receive their due.

That said, there's something I've been wondering about recently. You see, there's no question that the DCU has a lot of really great heroes and villains. And that sometimes they fall off the radar no matter how good they may be. Some of those missing heroes -- like Aquaman -- have been put on track to return to their former glory. With others like Martian Manhunter and Batman it may take a while.

But what about the villains? There have been a lot of quality villains that have slipped through the cracks in recent years as well. But there's one in particular that I've been wondering about. A villain more evil and insane than almost any other.

I speak, of course, of Jean Loring.

What happened to crazy ol' Jean? She danced on Sue Dibny's brain, went wacky with a flamethrower, ended up host to Eclipso, and then got dumped in the ocean by Mary Marvel. Last time we saw her I think it was in Countdown. There was a shark.

I seriously doubt that a mere shark would be enough to take out Jean. She's got to be somewhere, perhaps scheming up a sinister plan to get Ray back. Or maybe I'm wrong and she really is dead. Maybe she'll show up in the last issue of Reign in Hell and take the whole place over.
