Hello Peoples!
Dig this: I catch Yahoo News over the weekend, and they're doing a piece on the new Conan film, which, admittedly, I haven't been following as closely as a good nerd and child of the 80s should be--so I get my first close look at the updated Cimmerian himself:
Now, understand, it's first thing in the morning, I'm half awake....And my first thought upon seeing this pic (which was much smaller on Yahoo) is "Gee, he looks kinda familiar--SAY! Wouldn't it be awesome if they got....."
PRAISE ALMIGHTY CROM!!! The new Conan is Jason Momoa: RONON MOTHERFUCKING DEX!
My roomie has a few seasons of Stargate Atlantis on DVD, and he got me back into the show.
And while my favorite character is definitely David Hewlett's Dr. Rodney McKay (an opinion I share with TTOS contributor and Den Mother, Colleen) I loved Momoa's portrayal of the show's prerequisite kicker of ass and taker of names.
When the show ended, I remember wondering if he'd ever pop up again....
Anyhoo, Ya done good, Hollywood people: You cast a solid actor with the perfect look and a good NRF (Nerd Recognition Factor) to play an iconic character...I'll try not to get used to such a level of competenceXD
And as a treat for my female (and a certain segment of my male) readers, here's one last pic...
