One of the things about having a blog is you're constantly running into cool/weird/nifty/awful/hilarious things that you look at and think: "Oh wow! I SO need to blog about that!
9 times out of 10, it doesn't happen: Even someone so bereft of anything resembling a life as myself just can't find the time for most of the stuff I'd like to write about...But today's gem is an exception: Feast your eyes!
See that friends? That right there is an Easter card with a MILK CHOCOLATE CROSS in it!
I could get this thing as a joke...but it's dead serious--the card is straight-laced and reverent...
Look, I'm not a Christian--but I was raised Episcopalian, and I know my shit Jesus-wise...Do I have to be the one to say it? THE MAN DIED ON ONE OF THOSE THINGS!!
Crucifixion was an inhumanly cruel means of execution employed by the Romans for use on enemies of the Empire. It was designed not only to kill, but to torture slowly and provide an object lesson to their subjects. You'd be stretched out on one of those things for days while gawkers pondered what would kill you first: Exposure? Dehydration? Suffocation? (the lungs can't properly inflate while stretched out like that) Blood poisoning from the nails, maybe?
Anybody else getting hungry?
Anyway, it was only $.99, so I had to try it! (I was on a Cadbury Egg run--will blog more about those!)
Here's a closer look:
It was edible, but that's about it. It's along the lines of chocolate bunny chocolate...not exactly Godiva :P
I was disappointed: Shouldn't sacred sweets accompanied by Godly sentiments taste better?
But the biggest letdown was, of course, the lack of a tiny chocolate Jesus. What? Is that crossing the line? You can make a sugary confection out of the cruel device the man suffered and died on, but no choco-saviour? (and he'd have to be milk chocolate--as white chocolate is the work of Satan...it's in the Bible: the Book of Wonka, I believe)
More to come, folks...but I'll let you digest this sickly-sweet morsel before I go any further. Oh, and to everyone who I didn't email about it, and who doesn't follow me on Twitter (you totally should, btw). I apparently wrote the most popular Topless Robot Daily List of February: my Mythbusters list--436,000 pageviews.
WHO DA MAN? SCOOT DA MAN!
I don't have a lot going on, Peoples--allow me to bask in my petty triumphs.

Hello my Children. Den Mother Colleen here. I'm very perplexed by my latest entry of Weird News from the Interwebs. As many know, Syfy has taken to putting things on the network that are very much un-Scifi...particularly wrestling... Apparently sometime this year, a cooking show will appear. Anyway, I'm a fan of Bravo network's Top Chef series. This year they are doing Top Chef All Stars, where Runner-ups from previous seasons attempt for the top prize again. My favorite contestant from Season 2 of Top Chef, Marcel Vigneron, apparently has been slated for SyFy.
From his Bravo Bio: "Marcel considers himself to be first and foremost a “cook.” He previously worked as a Sous Chef at The Bazaar by Jose Andres, as a Master Cook at Joel Robuchon, and as a line cook for Michael Mina at Aqua before becoming an Executive Chef of his own kitchen in Los Angeles. He also has his own TV series titled “Marcel’s Quantum Kitchen” which is slated to premiere on Syfy in 2011."
What. The. Fuck? I mean I totally love the idea of this dude having his own show... but one would think he would be on, oh I don't know, THE FOOD NETWORK?!?! WHOSE RESPONSIBLE THIS???????
Syfy -pandering to all demographics!
Ahoy-hoy!
Sorry, It's been a couple days, I know!
I've been neglecting my duties as Blog Czar these past few days. Been doing most of my chatting at Google--more private. And I've been trying to write a new TR List, finally finished at about six this morning. Point being, I didn't feel quite right penning articles here while actual paid work was being ignored.
But I'm here now, ready to resume my post--how has my realm been faring? Good?
I'm relatively neato (as Carlin would say). Saw Inception finally--loved it. Roomies bought Dead Rising 2--haven't played it yet, but any game where you get to bludgeon zombies with a wheelchair already has my vote on principle.
Oh, and in case you haven't noticed--the Amazon ads have been removed. Nothing against Amazon.com itself, but the way it works is I post advertisements for various items, and receive a commission every time someone clicks the link. In the 8 months since I started this mess, not ONE of you people has bought a single damned thing.
I'm not gettting down on you, folks--times are tight, I dig that. But if no one's gonna make use of the advertisements, then it becomes nothing more than me giving Amazon (and whatever items I feature) free publicity. Not to mention wasting space on what is already a terribly cluttered blog.
Anywhat, today I present a delightful piece inspired by my recently completed Daily List, it's a wonderfully meaningless, superficial dollop of digital marshmallow fluff:
PRETTY GIRLS AND RAMEN NOODLES!
