Chuck has a simple yet totally AWESOME (you will meet him soon)premise. Take a quintessential geek and download all of the United States Government's secrets into his brain. Give him two neato protectors and you get one hell of a hilarious show.

Cast of Characters:

Charles Bartowski, nicknamed Chuck, is played by Zachary Levi. Could a name get anymore Jewish? Anyway Chuck is the supervisor for the Nerd Herd at Buy More. TV's version of the Geek Squad at Best Buy. He's fantastic with computers and still hung up on some ex named Jill.
Chuck is definitely hot and is a total geek. All nerd girls squee!

After his birthday party (I think he turned 26) an old college buddy (who got him kicked out of Stanford...but there was a purpose) sends him an email. This buddy is Bryce Larkin of the CIA. Who is supposedly dead...Thank you, Casey. Anyway, Chuck opens it and sees a whole mess of pictures...which were actually encrypted images. And the wackiness ensues.

Next up, is the delectable Sarah Walker, CIA, played by Yvonne Strahovski. Sarah was Bryce's partner and girlfriend. This shall be the number one cockblock for Chuck in this season. Sarah is one of Chuck's "handlers" and is posing as Chuck's girlfriend.

Sarah's hotter. As Chuck said, "Oh yeah, believe me, I know."

Sarah is a formidable fighter...which is excessively hot, particularly when she's in fisticuffs with other hot chicks. She has a particular fondness for knives and hates olives. Her dad is a con artist and after he was arrested, the CIA recruited Sarah. Not her real name by the way.

And next we have...JAYNE!!!!!!! Actually he is Agent/Major John Casey of the NSA, played by Adam Baldwin....the hero NAMED JAYNE!!!! Ok, I'm done with the Firefly squeeing.He's hot too. He's also kinda scary.

John Casey is Chuck's number two handler. He is posing as an employee of the Buy More. This is often quite hysterical...particularly when he deals with the really odd ducks who work there. Casey likes bonsai trees, guns, and Ronald Reagan...no really. John Casey isn't his real name either.

Next on the hit parade is Chuck's best friend, Morgan Grimes, played by Joshua Gomez. He is a sweet guy, who loves Chuck, and loves Chuck's sister even more. He also works at the Buy More.

Some might find him hot but he's not my type.

Anyway, Morgan loves video games and spends more time at Chuck's place...when not at the Buy More, than his own home. He may be weird but no one can question his loyalty...just his social know-how.

So next we have Chuck's sister, Ellie, played by Sarah Lancaster....very hot. She is a physician, I don't know which specialty, and lives with Chuck and her boyfriend...who we'll get to in a minute.

Definitely hot...and so much better in this show than Everwood.

Anyway, Ellie's biggest concern in life, when not dealing with her man's flakiness, is that Chuck is not reaching his potential. She's his big sister and wants him to do more with his life than be a Buy More goon. Wonder if the CIA is good enough?

And next up is Ellie's boyfriend...Awesome,played by Ryan McPartlin. His actual name is Devon Woodcomb, but everyone refers to him as Awesome...because for him life is broken down to awesome...and not awesome. He's the quintessential California Boy, and also a cardiac surgeon....scary huh?

This is Awesome. He's hot if you like the surfer boy type.

Awesome loves white water rafting, mountain climbing, biking, yeah he's that guy. He's also really smart and really devoted to Ellie. He views Chuck as a little brother and tries to help him out whenever possible. Despite the surfer mentality, Awesome really is...Awesome.

And next up are the tertiary characters. Starting with the Buy More goons.

Buy More...You Save More (actual motto)

Chuck, Morgan, and Casey work for Big Mike, played by Mark Christopher Lawrence. He's the store manager. His goal is to spend as little time as possible actually working...Which is actually most of the employees's goals as well.

Big Mike hates you too. He's not hot, either.

Like everyone else in the store, Big Mike depends on Chuck to keep the store from completely imploding. He likes fishing.

Next up are the two single most irritating people on Earth. They don't even get individual write-ups. They are Jeffster, actual names are Jeff Barnes, played by Scott Krinskey, and Lester Patel, played by Vik Sahay. In the second season we learn they have a band called Jeffster. Hence the nickname. Lester is an Indian Jew, and Jeff is old and creepy... Here they are.

You've met the geeks. Now meet the dorks.

Both are annoying, both are alcoholics, and both suck at picking up girls. Jeff is just creepier because he's older. They are both part of the nerd herd. They know computers...and that's the only non creepy thing they know.

And next we have someone whose neither sad nor creepy. Anna Wu, played by Julia Ling... And here's why...

Hello Asian hottie.

She is the last member of the nerd herd. And the one I'm sure most are hoping to get assistance from. Anna starts dating Morgan towards the end of the season...Goddess knows why.

The People in Charge of "Operation Bartowski"

Operation Bartowski, as Chuck, Sarah, & Casey are called, answers to two people.

First is General Diane Beckman, played by Bonita Friedericy, a petite redhead. She's still very scary.

This is Beckman. She's tiny but probably can kick your ass.

She's fairly befuddled by the intersect ending up in Chuck. In fact her first words were "Great the most important intelligence in the world is in the hands of an idiot." She eventually grows to see Chuck as a benefit. But that doesn't stop her from ordering Casey to kill him once a new intersect is up and running.

The next is CIA Director Langston Graham, played by Tony Todd. And is anything else needed to be said...ITS FUCKING TONY TODD!!!

This is Graham. He's scary too. And will kill you dead.

Anyway, Operation Bartowski video-conferences with Beckman & Graham. That's how they get their assignments...in the Buy More viewing room that customers can use to try out Buy More products...it has a couch and it is comfy. Inside the coffee table are a whole mess of guns. The CIA & NSA is stocking up the Buy More quite well.

So mostly Chuck works at the Buy More...is given information to "flash" on so he can assist the Government in protecting the innocent and what not. In addition, Chuck does his best to keep this new secret life from his friends and family. He also deals with his growning and completely understandable attraction to Sarah. This hits a high/low point in my favorite episode: Chuck vs. the truth. He meets a sweet girl who makes sandwiches named Lou. And in the Spy world there is a ex-gymnast stealing secrets and selling them to the highest bidder. He also likes to play with a poison that also has truth-serum in it...which gets us to the most entertaining scene in the entirety of season 1.
