Hello Peoples!
This is Debbie Mnemonic--she's a Ninja! :)
Seriously, she's the new TTOS contributor who composed the thoroughly entertaining article below. Oh, and just in case any one's confused--that's not an actual picture of her. I'll wait until she feels comfortable enough with you folks to grace you with her image.
Deb is unique among my contributors: She actually knows me in the Physical World!
Yep! She can confirm that Scooter does indeed exist!
In fact, she actually knew me long before Scooter came to be, back in the Dark Ages when I was no more than a mild mannered, unassuming sci-fi geek and occasional LARPer...Before I discovered the joys of the Internet and Scooter Arteides was born.
So, you folks have the unique opportunity, if you're at all curious, to find out what I'm like IRL from a qualified source...Lucky You!
Anyway, I'm sure Debbie will make a fine crewmember aboard my virtual ship of fools. As you can see in the piece below, she's interested in focusing on the most awesomely bad music and video of that miserable decade known as the 1990s, but I'm sure she'll have other material to share.
Welcome aboard, Deb! May Crom have mercy on your soul!

Once again I show off my questionable skills at the dubious art of "Divolution", that is, making WWE Divas on the PS3 for the game Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 (and now, 2011) out of my friends and readers.
Todays victim: TTOS contributor Boredlizzie! Let's take a quick look at "un-Divolved" Lizzie for reference:
Adorable, yes? AND a fellow Topless Robot t-shirt winner, which means this lovely photo shall be enshrined for all time in the TTOS "We Are The Champions" gallery (just check the page list on the left sidebar)
So, now that we've all met Lizzie, join me after the jump, and get to know her ass-kicking, name-taking doppleganger.
Mr. Atreides
We start with my attempt at a Steampunk ensemble. Unfortunately, what I ended up with using the clothing and accessory options available more closely resembles a biker or a rather funky airplane pilot. This is the Entrance Attire:
And this is the Ring Attire:
Next, Lizzie wanted me to take a stab at the DC Comics heroine Zatanna...While I couldn't be exact, I think I did a fair job capturing the basic "sexy magician" look. (the glasses were my idea, btw)
ENTRANCE:
RING:
Next we have an ensemble of my own design. I call it simply: "Fallen". The concept is what would you have if an Angel was being corrupted into a Demon--but somehow stopped halfway there? As far as original costumes go, this is one of my favorites.
Also: Black halos are cool!
And for the grand finale: Lizzie asked me to attempt to style her Diva in the manner of the magnificent Dr. Harleen Quinzel...That's right--Harley Quinn!
Fortunately, the version of Harley she requested was the one from the Arkham Asylum video game--I couldn't have done a thing with the traditional Jester's outfit ensemble.
Anyway, I thought she came out ok--Unfortunately, the game wouldn't allow me to make her boots red and blue. I had to pick one.

Once again, it's your dear, disturbed Uncle Scoot bringing you kiddie lit sure to keep children's therapists in business for many a year.
Uncle Scoot sure hopes you all read the first entry in his little book club: THE ELDER GOD AT THE END OF THIS BOOK! (The original title was "There's An Elder God At The End Of This Book", but you know editors ;) ) If you didn't, Uncle Scoot assures you that your parents will sell you into slavery and give all your stuff to your obnoxious brothers/sisters...if you're an only child, your stuff will be given to neighbor children.
But Uncle Scoot knows you're all good boys and girls, so you have nothing to worry about...right?
This week's assignment is gonna sting, for Uncle Scoot is well aware that this one is based on a classic that is near and dear to the hearts of many a TTOS reader...So, without further ado:
Anyway, enjoy your repressed memories, kiddies!
(and thanks once again to Matthew Vimislik, for his superlative artwork, and Topless Robot, for holding such a fucked-up contest)
Uncle Scoot
P.S. In case any of you were wondering, I have indeed removed the Adult Content Warning. After giving it some thought, I realized there's nothing on TTOS that wouldn't make it through a SafeSearch filter (not anymore XD)--and I'm probably only alienating potential readers by having it up: Both the people who are immediately put off and assume this is a porn site, and the people who click "Yes" expecting porn only to be disappointed. So no more mystery: What you see is what you get ^_^

Something interesting happened recently. I started using deviantART.
http://www.deviantart.com/
You may be famliar with it.
Anyway I entered a writing contest to come up with a manga style comic idea. Then I won the contest. Most of the prizes consist of people doing character art for it and maybe even producing some pages of story.
I entered with this story I have called Dragon Spirit. I originally concieved it as a sort of parody of shonen manga boy hero type stories. But not a comedy parody, parody does not always have to be funny, you literary types should know what I am talking about.
Some of the prizes were deviantART points that you can use to buy stuff in the store or commission artists. I didn't notice it until the prize had been sent that one of the prize givers was none other than Vitaly S. Alexius the person who makes Romantically Apocalyptic.

It feels like The Captain himself gave me something. It was just some deviantART points but still it felt kind of neat considering that I had just learned about Romantically Apocalyptic on this very blog and then won a contest with prizes from its artist without even realizing it.

I just thought I would share this with you all.
Soon I may post again with something more relevantly nerdy to our cause.

So I get an email from a gentleman with an interesting idea: He wants to make book covers for his favorite entries in TR's recent Inappropriate Sci-Fi/Fantasy Books For Lil' Nerds Contest. I received the honor of being his first subject. He sent me his vision of my entry's cover, and asked if he could go ahead and put it up on Deviantart. Naturally, I was delighted to grant him permission, and asked only that I be able to post the pic here for you folks. AND that he send me his future works.
Thus, TTOS presents its newest feature: CREEPY UNCLE SCOOT'S BOOKS 4 BRATS!!
Here's the first marvelous piece of children's literature to get Uncle Scoot's seal of approval:

Another weekend has passed so it’s once again the start of the five day struggle. I did however have a strangely awesome weekend. Strange because I had fun at something I would have said little fun could be had.
I went to this opening type thingy of Auryn ( www.enchantra.nl ) , in short… lots of make-up, lot’s of women buying and talking about make-up, the occasional stylist giving advice… and me. And I had a blast. Looking back I can’t say what it was that made the day so much fun except for the people there. However… traveling to and especially back from Zeeland, where this happening took place was bad, real bad. With just about 7 hours of travel time in total of which at least 1,5 hour on the trip home spend standing packed like sardines by train, it was extraordinary coming home with the feeling of having had a great day… I mean I didn’t even buy anything? I guess it was a combination of interesting people and good hosts.
I did have time to do some drawing (see pic), feeling like an island of zen in a sea of make-up raiding estrogen. Other then that I actually did some palm reading (to prove that it’s a gimmick) and some interesting tarot readings.
On other news today… be cool, join my forum, besides the fact that I love the attention, I know some pretty awesome people are out there who should spend time talking to each other online… yes you are one of them… go join http://nltarot.forum2go.nl/ .
Ever fall in love with something you've discovered online? Not just any old thing, but something that couldn't exist properly without the Internet? Such as, oh, say, a webcomic.
Is there a webcomic out there you enjoy?
Then you may understand a fraction of the love that I feel now for Romantically Apocalyptic.
Granted, I only just discovered it today via Comics Alliance, but I know that not all y'all read comics or go to such sites, and you must know about this webcomic. PEOPLE MUST BE TOLD.
Why?
Well, it looks like this:

(Elements of Fallout and Dune? Well, elements of Fuck and YES!)
The gentleman in the gas mask is Zee Captain, who lives in a dreary post-apocalyptic landscape infested with mutants, giant worms, and lemonade-worshipping cult members. He has a companion/sidekick, also in a gas mask, whom he torments but is really super-duper buddies with. I don't want to say too much lest I spoil things, but the comic is as hilarious as the landscape is beautifully dark and bleak. I love the splashes of vibrant reds, yellows and greens here and there. SIGH. IT IS LOVE. <3
This drool-worthy art and story comes to us via Vitaly S. Alexius, digital artist, designer, and illustrator extraordinaire. (That's right, I'm busting out the French for this one. Because he's worth it.)
Honestly, the only bad thing about it is that it has a pronoun in its title. And I'll forgive it that as long as it keeps being amazing.
Zee Captain's Facebook (for funsies)
Now that I have gushed, maybe I can sleep! Ha ha. I say funny thing.
